A study on the performance of the Points of Single Contact (PSC) has been published today. The Points of Single Contact (PSCs) are e-government portals that allow service providers to access information and complete administrative procedures online.

The study assesses the performance of the PSCs in relation to criteria set out in the PSC charter.

To make the PSCs more responsive to the needs of business, the European Commission and EU countries agreed on the charter that encourages the development of PSCs that are user-friendly and accessible.

The PSCs enable entrepreneurs and business to:

  • access information on regulations procedures and deadlines related to the provision of services online;
  • complete all administrative procedures electronically.

PSCs had to be established in all EU countries by 2009, as set out in the Services Directive.
