“Growing together in a barrier-free Europe” – Celebrating the Day of Persons with Disabilities

The conference will focus on children and young people with disability. Presentations and discussions will be on the current situation of children with disabilities in Europe, on their access to education and how it contributes to the equal participation of children and young people with disabilities in society.

On 8 December, at a ceremony during the conference, the Commissioner for employment, social affairs, skills and labour mobility, Marianne Thyssen, will announce the winners of the 2016 Access City Award, the European wide award that rewards cities for their efforts in making them accessible to all.
