The Revised User Guide to the SME Definition 2015

The revised user guide to the SME definition is now available in all languages.
The SME Definition Recommendation that came into force on 1 January 2005 aims to ensure that support measures are granted only to those enterprises that genuinely need them. It is designed to be a practical tool to help SMEs identify themselves so they can receive support from the EU and its Member States.
Why a new version?
In 2016, the European Commission carried out an evaluation of the user guide. An updated, more complete and more user friendly version was deemed necessary.
We are happy to announce that the revised user guide is now available in all language versions on our website.
