Copernicus Hackathon Programme

The European Commission is launching a call for proposals for the organisation of the Copernicus Hackathon Programme. This programme aims at financing the organisation of 20 hackathons in Europe every year for two years.
The purpose of this call is to select a single organisation which will coordinate the programme on behalf of the Commission. The coordinator of the programme should support entities wanting to organise a Copernicus Hackathon. The functioning of the Copernicus Hackathon Programme is summarised in the figure below:
The call covers:
- Financial support to the organisers of 20 hackathons per year for two years (€20 000 per hackathon).
- Coordination of the programme, in particular:
- communication about the programme to maximise the number of applications
- organisation of the open selection of hackathon projects, including the design of the application procedure and the organisation of the meetings of the panel of judges
- logistical support to organisers of hackathons (advice, speakers, material, design of a standard agenda, access to IT tools etc.)
- secretarial support to the programme (day-to-day interactions with applicants and organisers of hackathons)

Eligibility
Applications from natural/legal persons established in one of the following countries are eligible:
- EU countries.
- Iceland.
- Norway.
Consortia are not eligible
Submission of proposals
The full text of the call for proposals is available below. A model grant agreement is also available for information (but the call for proposal takes precedence over it).
Applicants should use the Electronic Submission System (SEP) to submit their proposal. The link will be posted on this webpage soon.
The deadline for electronic submission is 7 September 2017 at 17:00 (Brussels time).
