Join us in Brussels for the presentation of the key recommendations of the Strategic Policy Forum on Digital Entrepreneurship on the digital transformation of European enterprises and industries.

Advanced technologies empowered by investments, disruptive business models and improved production processes, are currently driving the ‘fourth industrial revolution’.

The transition to a digital economy is essential for Europe’s competitive edge and to deliver much needed economic growth and jobs.

At this event, John Higgins, President of the Strategic Policy Forum, will present the group's key recommendations. They are meant to help unlock the unprecedented and as yet not-fully exploited business opportunities empowered by the convergence of advanced technologies.

The recommendations will focus on:

  • the powerful role of regions and cities as launch pads for digital transformation.
  • the role of B2B platforms to unleash a European data economy, notably in areas such as automotive, self-driving cars and connected healthcare.
  • the continuous re-skilling of the workforce.

The aim of the recommendations is to prepare policy makers and legislators for the challenges of our technology-rich future.

The event will be opened by the Director-General for the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Lowri Evans. There will be a keynote speech from John Straw, author of iDisrupted, on how industry is responding to the digital revolution.

The event begins at 16.30. The cocktail following the presentation will give you the opportunity to engage with members of the Strategic Policy Forum, policy makers and business owners, and will help you better understand how to make Europe a more entrepreneurial and business-friendly place.

The Forum, a think tank set up by the European Commission, brings together leaders from business, academia, international organisations and politics.
