Seminar: Protection of online IPR for SMEs in Taiwan

10 September 2015

(From ec.europa.eu)

The China IPR SME Helpdesk, in collaboration with lawyers and industry experts, is organising a morning seminar for European SMEs in Taiwan on the protection of online intellectual property rights (IPR).

While the internet can be a profitable business platform for European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), it also provides an increasingly easy way for infringers to sell counterfeit goods and commit fraud.

This seminar will outline the IP and domain name risks faced by European SMEs and will provide a comprehensive overview of ways to mitigate against, and respond to domain name infringement. Practical guidance will be offered on how to register a domain name, ways to resolve a domain name dispute and how to build a domain name strategy for your company.

China IPR SME Helpdesk Business Advisor, Reinout van Malenstein will give an overview on the importance of IP management as well as top tips for protecting various forms of IP.

Michael Werner and John Eastwood will elaborate on the protection of online IP whilst Thomas Kuiper will outline how to build a robust domain name strategy.

The experts will be available for questions during the roundtable discussion as well as complimentary one-one-one consultations after the event.

The seminar will be in English and is free of charge.
