The Ecofin Council meets every month and brings together economic and financial ministers from all EU member states. It is responsible for economic policy, taxation issues and the regulation of financial services.

There are also specific Ecofin sessions to prepare the EU's annual budget which are attended by national budget ministers and the European Commissioner for financial programming and budget.
