Call summary
The Commission plans to award the European Capital of Innovation 2016 following a European-wide contest. The new Capital of Innovation will use the prize money to scale up its innovation activities. This should encourage and contribute to enabling the city to develop new innovation activities by attracting investors, industry, top class researchers as well as talented and entrepreneurial individuals. The second and the third ranked cities will also receive cash prizes.
Deadline to submit applications: 18 November 2015 at 17:00:00 (Brussels local time)
