Service contract: Ionosphere prediction service

29 June 2015

(From ec.europa.eu)

The European Commission is launching an open call for tenders to award a contract aimed at translating the prediction and forecasting of the ionosphere into tangible results and user-devoted metrics.

These results will be achieved through the design and development of an Ionospheric Prediction Service prototype and the provision of a service with early warning capabilities and predictions on ionospheric events.

By having access to this kind of information, GNSS users and service providers will be aware of potential performance degradation of their systems. Based on the early warning system, steps can be taken to help mitigate the impact on the operated systems.
