Webinar: Protecting intellectual property in supply chains

03 February 2016

(From ec.europa.eu)

Registration is now open for this webinar on 11 February where members of the European Commission's unit on intellectual property will discuss the new initiative to incorporate IP protection into supply chain management.

Fragmented, far-flung supply chains put valuable intellectual property at risk: counterfeits parts and counterfeits can enter legitimate supply chains, trade secrets can be compromised, and designs can be copied.

For companies today, these infringements can pose financial and reputational risks, and may constitute a threat to public health and consumer safety.

Jean Bergevin and Stéphanie Martin from the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industy, Entrepreneurship and SMEs will also discuss:

  • how to integrate IP protection into existing supply chain management.
  • how to identify and assess risks.
  • ways companies can incorporate best practices into working with third parties.

The webinar takes place at 17.00 (CET).

It is being hosted by the Center for Responsible Enterprise and Trade (CREATe.org).
